DROK GRANT
Multi-Disciplined Artist
David “Drok” Grant is a Los Angeles–based painter whose work is grounded in observation, memory, and lived experience. Raised in West Orange, New Jersey, just outside of New York City, he developed an early sensitivity to how people occupy space—how presence shifts, how bodies communicate without language, and how environments hold multiple realities at once. That awareness continues to shape the way he sees and paints.
Grant’s practice is less concerned with perfection when constructing images than with translating experience. His paintings emerge from accumulated moments, gestures, colors, and interactions that settle over time before arriving on the surface.
He approaches art as an extension of life rather than a separate discipline. Painting sits alongside music, fashion, and collaboration as part of a broader instinct to make meaning visible. His current practice reflects this through consistency and movement—daily painting, community-centered exhibitions, and work that continues to evolve without settling into a fixed narrative.
